The iPod Nano 6th Generation, it’s pretty obvious from first glance that this isn’t your typical iPod. First of all the controls are now based on the iPod touch model and everything is done via the touch screen (which actually rotates based on the angle is is held!). It includes all the standard functionality that you’re used to in an iPod including the built-in FM radio tuner and pedometer that were introduced in the 5th generation. The 6th gen iPod does not have video playback however podcasts and videos can still be synced to the device allowing for audio play-back only. New features like the shake feature (shuffles randomly with a shake of the device) and the music genius (automatic creation of music mixes) help to make the new nano even cooler and battery life is an amazing 24 hours of music playback on a single charge!
While all the internal software features are really pretty awesome, and the ability to shuffle through songs via a ‘swipe’ make this unit a pretty cool device where it truly shines is in the new form design. Like it’s name implies the iPod nano is small, previous designs were definitely small but this takes it to a whole new level and with the clip built right into the design it’s obvious that the iPod nano 6th generation is designed for people at the go. This device is the ultimate for jogging, weight training and working out in general or just going for a brisk walk around town. It’s so small that you won’t notice it on your clothes yet has the storage capacity to carry around many albums worth of music right on your sleeve.
