LG Univa E510 embraces officialdom as LG Optimus Hub
Today in Italy LG announced the successor of its highly popular midrange droid Optimus One. Dubbed LG Optimus Hub, the new smartphone improves several key aspects of the hardware of its predecessor, while maintaining the attractive pricing.
Costing a euro under €200, the LG Optimus Hub comes with a 3.5" HVGA LCD, 800 MHz CPU and 512 MB. Its highlights also include a 5 megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi and 3G with 3.6 Mbps HSDPA connectivity. Wi-Fi direct and Bluetooth 3.0 are also supported.
The compact droid runs the latest smartphone-meant version of the Android OS - 2.3.4 Gingerbread. Unfortunately, its CPU has an ARMv6 core, which means that the LG Optimus Hub won't be running ARMv7-requiring apps (Adobe Flash Player, Firefox for Android, etc.).
Still, with its compact body and neat design the LG Optimus Hub looks like a pretty attractive package. We are sure that plenty of people will be treating themselves to one of those for this holiday season. And since the Optimus Hub will hit the shelves in October there might even be a price cut by then.
